How to freeze onions

Onions are an ingredient in many dishes. We add it to salads, first and second courses, fry, stew and bake. Many are interested in: “Is it possible to freeze onions?” And although it seems that there is no such need in principle, there are situations when you cut more onions than you need. And if you know for sure that you won't be using it any time soon, then a great way to save such an onion for later use is to freeze it.

It should be taken into account that after freezing, the onion will lose some of its texture and become a little soft after thawing. So in the future, the onion can be used in those dishes where it will undergo heat treatment.

It should also be noted that over time, the aroma of frozen onions deteriorates. And although frozen onions can be stored for 6 months, it is better to use them within 6 weeks.
