Romance is in the air, flowers, hearts and cute valentines with declarations of love are everywhere. February 14 is very close, which means that millions of lovers are preparing to surprise and delight their soulmate.
If you look deep into the past, we are waiting for a romantic and at the same time sad story. The ruler of the Roman Empire, Claudius II, forbade his soldiers to marry. In his opinion, the legionnaire should have thought about the fate of the state, and not about his wife. But a priest named Valentine secretly married lovers who were ready to go against the order of the emperor. When Claudius II found out about everything, he executed the priest. Valentine is remembered as the patron saint of all lovers and a martyr who suffered for the faith. Later he was canonized, and February 14, by decree of Pope Gelasius I, was declared St. Valentine's Day.
Today this holiday is celebrated in many countries. Traditionally, lovers give each other chocolate, flowers, cards and pamper each other with cute gifts.
But in Saudi Arabia, the holiday is officially banned at the state level.
For decor, candles and rose petals are most often used. The classic color scheme is white and red, but you can always experiment.
