The researchers found that those who consumed yogurt twice a day for a month observed a change in brain function , as well as in brain activity in response to an emotion.

The study involved 36 women with normal physique, aged between 18-53 years. The volunteers are divided into two groups. The first group consumed yogurt containing probiotic strains of Bifidobacterium animalis, Streptococcus thermophiles and Lactobacillus bulgaricus . Consumption is twice a day for a month.

Before and after the one-month study period, the research team performed magnetic resonance imaging on both groups of volunteers. During this time, various emotional tasks were set in order to monitor the brain activity in the reaction of the participants.
