GMO Tomatoes Lower Cholesterol

Scientists have modified the plant to produce a drug ready for direct consumption.

Atherosclerosis - hardening of the arteries and loss of their elasticity can have serious consequences, such as a heart attack or heart attack . Although there are medications that can remove some of the plaque that has accumulated on the inner walls of the arteries, not everyone is ready to take them because of their side effects.

Improvements in lifestyle and healthier living can definitely help, but a new alternative will soon emerge: genetically modified  tomatoes .

Tomatoes, created by researchers at the American Medical College "David Geffen", have been modified to synthesize a peptide, an amino acid compound known as 6F . This peptide mimics the plaque-successfully reducing mechanisms of ApoA-1 , which is the main protein in HDL - "good" cholesterol.

By including this product only once a week in the menu of those at risk of such problems, the " therapeutic tomato " is expected to not only significantly reduce atherosclerotic plaque levels, but also reduce the risk of arterial inflammation, increase HDL-cholesterol levels and stable levels of paraoxanase activity are maintained - an antioxidant action that reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease.

6F protein is much more effective than the ApoA-1 molecule, which mimics and is taken only by consuming special tomatoes - it is not necessary to isolate, purify the protein or take special medications.

Preventing cardiovascular problems has never been tastier.
