Necessary products:

  • 1 packet of frozen puff pastry
  • 6 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ground walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1/3 tea cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 5 large apples, cut into thin slices (sour varieties are most suitable)

Method of preparation:

Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Take the dough out of the freezer half an hour before you start preparing the dessert. Grease a form with oil or cover its bottom with baking paper (the size of the dish is enough to be about 23 - 26 cm in diameter). In a small bowl, mix 4 tablespoons of melted butter, brown sugar and ground (not too fine) walnuts. Mix everything well and pour into the prepared pan.

Divide the dough into two parts. Roll one of them into a circle slightly larger than the diameter of the baking dish. Place it on the base of walnuts and butter, lightly press with your fingers. Distribute evenly over the edges of the dish. In a separate bowl, mix the white sugar, cinnamon, flour and the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.

Mix everything well. Then add the sliced apples, stirring lightly so that the mixture covers the pieces of fruit. Pour them into the baking dish on the dough.

Roll out the second part of the dough to the same size as the first. Cover the apples with it and pinch the edges with your fingers. Make several incisions on the surface where the steam comes out.

Place in the oven and bake for an hour (maybe a little longer) until a crispy beautiful crust forms.

Allow the pie to cool. Serve slightly warm or at room temperature.

Enjoy your meal!
