How To Cook Apple Strudel With Almonds, Raisins And Vanilla Sauce - Recipe

Required products :

150 grams of butter

250 grams of flour

pinch of salt

2 egg yolks

1 tablespoon oil

700 grams of sweet and sour apples

juice of 1 lemon

50 grams of crushed almonds

raisins to taste

200 grams of granulated sugar

100 grams of vanilla rusks

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons high-fat liquid cream

1 packet of vanilla sugar

powdered sugar to taste

 

For the vanilla sauce:

500 milliliters of high-fat milk (preferably homemade)

1 egg

1 vanilla

1/2 teaspoon starch

sugar to taste

 

Method of preparation :

Melt 1/3 of the butter.

Sift the flour with the salt on the hob, make a hole in the middle, in which pour 120 milliliters of water, egg yolks, vanilla sugar and melted butter.

Knead a hard dough, shape into a ball, grease with oil and leave for an hour at room temperature.

Make the vanilla sauce. Pour the milk into a saucepan, add the sugar (sand), vanilla and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. When this happens, remove the pan from the heat, allow the milk to cool and add the starch. Mix everything thoroughly.

Then put back on the stove and cook over low heat until thickened.

Add the egg to the thick mixture and let everything cook for another 3 minutes, stirring.

Peel the apples, remove the seeds from the core and cut them into cubes.

Mix them with almonds, raisins, lemon juice and sugar.

Grind the vanilla rusks and mix with the cinnamon.

Preheat oven to 190 degrees.

Melt the remaining oil.

Roll out the dough in a thin layer, spread it with half the butter, cream and sprinkle with a mixture of rusks and cinnamon. Put the apple filling and roll it up. Place it in a tray whose bottom you have covered with baking paper. Grease the roll with the remaining oil.

Bake the dessert in the oven for 45-50 minutes.

When the finished strudel has cooled, sprinkle with powdered sugar, cut into pieces and serve with vanilla sauce. You can decorate with melted chocolate, mint leaves or nuts.
