How To Cook Classic Flapjack - Bars With Dried Fruit - Recipe

Learn how to cook "Classic flapjack - bars with dried fruits". Delicious recipe.

The classic flapjack is a mixture of dried fruits and seeds. They are both chewy and crunchy and are the perfect breakfast to eat on the go. Yes, we may not surprise you with their composition, and yes, they are very similar to the energy bars we eat regularly, but this is the classic recipe for a flapjack and maybe this is where all the variations for energy bars come from ...

Required products :

  • 90 grams of butter (salty)
  • 90 grams of golden syrup
  • 90 grams of light muscovado sugar
  • 150 grams of oatmeal
  • 50 grams of sunflower
  • 25 grams of sesame seeds
  • 75 grams of dried apricots, finely chopped
  • 75 grams of raisins

Method of preparation :

Turn on the oven to preheat to 180 degrees and line a 20-cm square tray with paper.

Heat the butter, golden syrup and sugar in a saucepan until melted and combined. Remove from the heat and add all the seeds and fruits.

Mix well and pour into the prepared pan.

Level the mixture as you see fit - with your fingers, a glass or a spoon. Bake for 20 minutes and, while the flapjack is still hot, cut into 16 squares (but not completely) while still in the pan. Wait for it to cool completely, then transfer to a board.

Then cut down and divide the squares into separate bars.
