Required products :

  • 500 grams of cottage cheese
  • 1,300 pounds of flour
  • 50 grams of live yeast
  • 200 grams of butter
  • 1 egg
  • spices of your choice
  • 350 milliliters of low-fat liquid cream
  • 100 milliliters of high-fat liquid cream (30%)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 5 tablespoons sugar

Method of preparation :

Heat the low-fat cream (350 milliliters) and dissolve the yeast, 6 tablespoons of flour and 5 tablespoons of sugar in it. Stir the mixture thoroughly and leave in a warm place for 30 minutes to activate the yeast.

Beat the yolks with a fork, add sugar to taste and then beat with a mixer on low speed. Crush the spices you have decided to use, pour them over the yolks. Then add the combination to the foamed yeast, and pour the high-fat cream.

Sift the flour and pour it in portions into the resulting mixture. Knead gently, gradually adding the softened butter. Leave the dough warm for 1.5-2 hours, knead again and let stand for another hour.

Divide into five equal parts. Shape three of them into rolls from which to make a braid. Roll out the fourth part into a layer the size of the bottom of the pan you will use for baking. From the fifth part of the dough knit two thin short braids.

Cover the greased bottom of the pan with the rolled dough. From the thick braid form boards at the edges, place the thin braids in the form of a cross in the inner part of the vessel.

Prepare the filling by mixing the sugar with one egg and add a little vanilla. Distribute this combination in the resulting empty spaces between the braids.

Bake the Easter cake for about 35 minutes in the oven at a temperature of 180 degrees.

Make a glaze of honey by dissolving it in water in a ratio of 1: 1. Spread the finished Easter cake with the sweet liquid and if desired you can sprinkle with seeds or pastry.
