Required products :

  • 3 teaspoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 115 grams of butter, cut into pieces
  • 4 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 2/3 tea cup of carbonated water

Method of preparation :

 

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, sugar and baking powder.
  • Add the pieces of butter and rub them with your fingers into the dry mixture to form large butter crumbs.
  • Add the orange juice and 1/2 teaspoon of carbonated water and knead a soft dough.
  • If necessary, add the remaining carbonated water and mix again.
  • Transfer the dough to a bowl greased with oil and let it rest at room temperature for 1 hour.
  • Form small balls and roll them thinly on a floured surface.
  • Use the empanadas dough immediately, with a sweet or salty filling of your choice, or store it in the refrigerator / freezer /.
