for spreading:
* A tea cup is used to measure the quantities.
Method of preparation :
In a small bowl, mix 2 teaspoons of sugar with 1/4 cup warm water. Add the yeast and let stand for about 10 minutes.
In a large bowl, mix the mixture with yeast, 3/4 cup warm water, eggs, olive oil, honey and salt. Pour the flour gradually, stirring until you get a soft dough.
Lightly knead a kitchen surface or board and knead the dough on it until it stops sticking (about 10 minutes). Transfer to a greased bowl, cover and leave to rise in a warm place until it doubles in volume (about 1 hour and 30 minutes).
Then divide it into 2 parts, one larger than the other. From the larger one, make three thick ropes, about 35 centimeters long. Clamp the three pieces at one end and braid. Place it in a pan covered with baking paper. Beat the egg in a bowl with 1 teaspoon of water and smear the surface with the resulting mixture.
From the smaller part of the dough knit braid in the same way, it will be smaller. Place it on the big one. Press lightly to stick to each other, put in a large plate, cover and leave to rise again in the heat for about 1 hour.
Beat the powdered sugar, flour and butter in a bowl until crumbly and spread it on the bread. Optionally garnish with sesame seeds.
Bake the Halla egg bread in a preheated 180 degree oven for 40-45 minutes. If it browns too quickly, cover with foil. Remove from the oven, cool for 10 minutes and cut into slices.
Enjoy your meal!
