Decorate the cookies with sugar pearls, gold or silver pollen or glittering sugar and color the icing with food coloring.

Required products :

for biscuits:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

for the glaze:

  • 1 and 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 teaspoons dry egg white
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons water

for garnish (optional):

  • glaze
  • shiny sugar
  • sugar pearls
  • powdered sugar

Method of preparation :

Preheat oven to 180 degrees.

biscuits:

Mix the flour, salt and baking powder in a bowl and stir.

Beat the butter and sugar in a bowl on a high speed mixer until fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract and beat until smooth, then reduce the speed of the mixer and pour the flour mixture into the butter, homogenize.

You can add walnuts to the dough and reduce the butter in the recipe to 10 tbsp.

Form the resulting dough into a ball, cover with foil and refrigerate for 1 hour, then remove and roll out on a lightly floured surface. Make biscuits by cutting different shapes and placing them in a tray covered with baking paper at a distance from each other. Bake for about 10 minutes or until lightly browned on the bottom, then cool.

glaze:

Mix powdered sugar, dry egg white and salt, stir. Gradually add 2 tablespoons of water, stirring constantly, until smooth. Decorate the biscuits as desired with icing, glittering sugar, sugar pearls and / or sugar. Allow the biscuits to cool to allow the icing to dry.
