Necessary products

For the dough :

  • 1 large egg
  • 3 teaspoons flour
  • 1/4 tea cup of honey
  • 3/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon oil / unsalted /
  • 2 teaspoons cardamom
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon liquid vanilla
  • flour for sprinkling on the surface on which it will be ground

For icing decoration :

  • 1 protein
  • 200-300 grams of powdered sugar, sifted
  • a few drops of lemon juice

Method of preparation

Dough for Christmas cookies :

 

  • Mix the flour, cardamom, salt and baking soda. Stir well.
  • Put the butter and sugar in a deep bowl and beat them with a mixer on medium speed for about 3 minutes until fluffy.
  • Add the honey, egg and vanilla and continue beating at the same speed for about a minute.
  • Add the mixture of flour, cardamom, salt and baking soda to them and stir on low until homogenous.
  • Divide the finished dough into several parts and roll each of them on a surface previously sprinkled with flour.
  • Cut out the cakes using Christmas molds and arrange them on baking paper in the pan.
  • Bake at 180 degrees for 11-13 minutes / or until fully cooked, depending on the oven /.
  • Wait for them to cool completely before decorating them.

Icing :

 

  • Beat the egg whites with a mixer with a few drops of freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar, beating the mixture constantly until you get a smooth cream. If it becomes too thick, you can dilute it with a few more drops of lemon juice and vice versa - if it is thin, add powdered sugar.
  • Decorate Christmas cookies using your imagination.
