Required products :

  • 150 grams of butter
  • 250 milliliters of honey
  • 100 grams of brown sugar
  • 300 grams of self-swelling flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ginger
  • 2 eggs

Method of preparation :

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and grease a 20 cm round pan with oil.
  • Heat the butter, honey and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Stir until the butter is melted and the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from the heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.
  • In a large bowl, sift the flour and aromatic spices.
  • Add the honey mixture and the eggs and beat with a mixer until smooth.
  • Pour the cake batter into the prepared form and bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown.
  • Allow the cake to cool for about 10 minutes before removing it from the pan.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar and after it cools completely, cut and serve.
