Necessary products

For the dough:

250 grams of butter at room temperature
2 eggs (large)
180 grams of natural yogurt without additives
120 grams of coconut shavings
30 grams of ground almonds
380 grams of flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
200 grams of sugar
1 tablespoon grated lemon peel
2 tbsp spoons of lemon juice

For syrup:

lemon peel
lemon juice
water
honey
cardamom

Determine the quantities of the syrup products according to the desired taste of the finished liquid and according to how syrupy you want the cake to be. If you prefer a juicier dessert, make a larger dose.

Method of preparation :

Turn on the oven to preheat to 180 degrees.
Grease the bottom of a cake tin (with a ring in the middle) with a diameter of 23 centimeters.
In a large bowl, mix the flour with the coconut shavings, ground almonds, baking powder and salt.
In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter together with the sugar and citrus peel until creamy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each.
Then gradually pour the dry mixture (without stopping the stirring process), alternating with yogurt and lemon juice.
Pour the resulting dough into the form and bake in a preheated oven for 45-55 minutes (check the readiness with a toothpick).

Make the syrup.
Put slices of lemon peel in a saucepan, pour as much citrus juice as you want and then water. It's time for honey and cardamom. Put the pan on low heat. Once the contents boil, let it boil for 5 minutes and remove from the heat.

Punch the finished cake with a toothpick and pour the aromatic syrup over it. Collect the amount that flows from the side and pour it over the dessert again. Do this until the cake absorbs all the honey liquid.

Enjoy your meal!
