Required products :

  • 3 egg yolks
  • 3 1/4 flour
  • 250 milliliters of milk, lukewarm
  • 1/4 tea cup powdered sugar
  • 100 grams of melted butter
  • 3 teaspoons dry yeast
  • 1 lemon, only peel, finely grated
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon egg custard / or jam of your choice /

Method of preparation :

  • Beat the yolks in a deep bowl and add the milk, butter and vanilla.
  • Sift the flour and yeast into the egg mixture and knead a smooth dough.
  • Sprinkle with grated lemon peel and knead again.
  • Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel and let it rest for about 1-2 hours or until it doubles in size.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 2 minutes and roll out a sheet 1 cm thick.
  • Use molds to cut out the hearts and transfer them to a tray covered with baking paper.
  • After about 30 minutes, fry the donuts in a pan over medium-high heat for about 1 minute on each side or until golden.
  • Remove them with a slotted spoon and leave them on kitchen paper to drain off excess fat.
  • Roll them in powdered sugar while warm.
  • Fill the donuts with egg custard or jam using a syringe with a thin tip or a pouch / pastry bag with a tip /.
  • Serve with love!
