Required products :

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
  • 100 grams of butter at room temperature
  • 1 2/3 tea cup coconut milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons flour
  • 1 cup fresh milk
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 3/4 tea cup condensed milk
  • 3/4 tea cup coconut shavings or grated coconut for decoration

Method of preparation :

Preheat oven to 175 degrees.

Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Store the egg whites in the refrigerator.

Put the sugar, butter and egg yolks in a bowl. Beat with a mixer until you get a fluffy cream.

Add half of the coconut milk (shake the can vigorously beforehand) and stir constantly to combine. Add the flour and 1/2 cup of fresh milk.

In another bowl, beat the egg whites in the snow and carefully transfer to the milk mixture, stirring with a spatula so as not to lose the volume of the mixture.

Transfer to a greased rectangular pan and bake for 30 minutes.

While the dessert is baking, add the remaining fresh and coconut milk to the condensed milk. Stir to obtain a homogeneous mixture.

Remove the cake from the oven and pour in some of the milk sauce while the dessert is still hot. Pierce it with a fork to better absorb the milk sauce. Pour the remaining cream in portions.

Cool and sprinkle with grated coconut or sawdust.
