Method of preparation :
Cut the onion into thick rings (about 1.5 cm). Divide the circles.
Sort them by forming 4 funnels of them, arranged from largest to smallest.
Bread, alternating flour - egg - breadcrumbs - egg - breadcrumbs, and arrange them on top of each other to form the funnel.
Arrange the funnels in a tray covered with baking paper and store in the freezer for 1-3 hours.
In a bowl, mix the minced meat, finely chopped onion, crushed garlic, parmesan, breadcrumbs, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, egg, salt and pepper and knead by hand.
Form 4 round meatballs. Bake them for 18 minutes (until ready) in a preheated 200 degree oven.
Heat a deep saucepan with enough fat to cover the onion funnels. Fry the frozen cones for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
Remove them from the hot oil and leave them on paper to drain the absorbed oil. Repeat with the remaining funnels.
Put 1 meatball in each funnel, pour marinara sauce, sprinkle with a little grated Parmesan and basil.
