Learn how to cook "Sauerkraut casserole with mashed potatoes and smoked sausage". Delicious recipe.
Required products :
600 grams of potatoes
1 onion
1 tablespoon melted butter
850 grams of sauerkraut
2 bay leaves
4 juniper berries
200 milliliters of white wine
ground black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon of butter
200 milliliters of
grated nutmeg
300 grams of smoked sausage
Method of preparation :
Boil the potatoes whole without peeling them.
Peel an onion and chop finely, fry it until transparent in melted butter. Then add the sauerkraut, juniper berries, bay leaves. Pour the wine and let the products simmer for 30 minutes on medium heat. Add pepper and salt.
Peel the potatoes, mash them and mix with the butter. Pour the hot milk and make a puree, which you add salt and season with a little nutmeg.
Arrange the cabbage in a pan, letting it cover the walls of the dish. Put the puree in the resulting indentation and pieces of smoked sausage on it.
Bake the dish in a preheated oven (200 degrees) for half an hour.
