The diet is over, you have reached your ideal weight! How to prevent a return to former magnificent forms?

As you already know, in most cases, it is not so easy to "maintain weight" and maintain a figure after a diet. Most often, women and girls, guided by the generally accepted parameters of beauty 90-60-90, after losing excess weight, strive for the "ideal figure". And not having achieved this, they get upset, which is not uncommon with "grief". So, how to keep "keep the weight off" after a diet?

After all, the body does not share our views on beauty, and "thinks" that all those kilograms, which were shed with such difficulty, were not superfluous at all, and they must be returned! This is our physiology. The body strives to maintain the relative constancy of the dynamic chemical composition, constant body temperature, regulates the composition of blood, lymph... (This phenomenon is called homeostasis).

The body's physiology also ensures that a certain amount of fat is maintained. Ultimately, if we use up these fat cells, which the body considers an inviolable reserve, it must use nutrients as carefully as possible to create new fat deposits, or reduce the metabolic rate, thereby conserving energy.

So, is it worth losing weight?

Did your body really need the extra pounds you worked so hard to lose? And how to help the body get used to the fact that excess fat is not at all included in the ideal concept of a healthy body. And how to eat to maintain the desired weight for a long time?

One of the best ways to maintain a figure after losing weight is the option built on the rule of "correct plate". The peculiarity of this method is that you can eat any food, but, of course, according to certain rules. To do this, choose the right, correct plate, the diameter of which is 25 cm. Conditionally divide this plate into parts. Leave one half for fruits and vegetables, one quarter for protein foods, and the remaining part for complex carbohydrates. And remember that this rule must be followed at every meal.

Advantages of this method:

  • There is no need to count calories and calculate the required amount of vitamins, proteins, minerals, dietary fibers, etc.
  • You get healthy and balanced food in the required quantity.
  • You have the opportunity to be completely free in your choice of food and have what you like, but remember, the only limitation is “The right plate”
  • And most importantly, you should not keep your body in the hedgehog mittens of hunger and constantly limit yourself.

Of course, the first time it is difficult to constantly limit yourself in the amount of food. The difficult period of weight stabilization usually lasts longer than most diets and all the while, you will want to eat more. But over time, you will notice that your body has not only adopted a new physical form, but also left the initiative to regain the lost kilograms at all costs.

In some cases, appetite suppressants may help. And also special preparations for weight loss, which are made from natural vegetables and protein components. Among these components, cellulose, pectin, fucus, guarana, chromium, chitosan, etc. are often used. These drugs "reduce the desire" to eat sweets, they also normalize appetite and help not to gain weight after a diet, without disturbing the taste. But in any case, before resorting to the help of such medicines, consult a doctor.

You must realize that special drugs for weight loss are not a panacea. You will have to make some efforts, for example, to persuade yourself to move more, to do physical exercises, especially if you have a sedentary job.

In addition, we want to give a few more tips for those who want to maintain their weight after a diet:

  • Include only stewed or grilled dishes in your diet. Try to eat as little fried meat, fish and vegetables as possible.
  • Remember - no additives! Even if you are offered to supplement the taste of the served dish with some sauces, give a firm answer "No".
  • Avoid alcohol - alcohol only increases appetite. You can drink only dry wines, they are good for digestion and metabolism. But remember, everything should be in moderation.
  • Try to eat mostly organic foods. To be sure that various flavor enhancers have not been added to the selected food, cook it yourself.
  • In the period of vitamin deficiency (in winter and early spring) you need to take a complex of vitamins. When your diet is poor in vitamins A, C, E and minerals, Ca, Cr, I, K, Mg, it will not be superfluous to take vitamins.
  • It is very important not to eat while watching TV or reading. Try to eat slowly, fully adjust to the process of eating. Only in this case, you will be able to feel satiety without abusing an excessive amount.
