Most of the calories are due to the carbohydrate content . The amount of two cups of iceberg lettuce provides 4 g of carbohydrates and 1.8 g of dietary fiber . Carbohydrates serve as a fuel important for the functioning of the nervous system and support muscle contractions. Dietary fiber leaves the feeling of satiety longer and is useful against constipation . 
 
Iceberg lettuce is a good source of vitamin K. The amount of two cups contains 35 micrograms of vitamin K , which is equal to 28% of the required daily intake for men and 39% for women. 
 
 
 
This vitamin promotes bone health and  blood clotting . Adequate vitamin intake can reduce the risk of developing osteoporosis.
 
Consumption of iceberg lettuce increases and the intake of vitamin A . Like vitamin K, vitamin A also contributes to bone health by regulating bone growth. When taken in sufficient quantities, it can also be good for the skin, eyes and blood.
