Modified Yogurt Helps To Lose Weight

In this article, learn more about Modified Yogurt Helps To Lose Weight. Yogurt is high in protein, occupying an extremely important part in the diet..

With regard to healthy eating, one of the important rules is to eat until we are full, not until the food is over. However, it is not observed by many people. Studies in the field have shown that foods that are high in protein can improve the feeling of satiety , thus consuming less food.

Based on this knowledge, scientists create a modified version of yogurt with added protein and starch, which saturates faster. They explain that this way people will be better able to manage food consumption.

Protein is an extremely important part of the diet, as it is involved in various functions in the body. They also leave the feeling of satiety for longer and support weight loss for two reasons. First, people who eat more protein tend to consume less over-processed carbohydrates.

In addition, the body needs more energy to process proteins. This burns calories and the feeling of satiety lasts longer. Although protein is an advantage, it is not the key to weight loss . Regular consumption of fruits, vegetables and whole grains is also necessary.

The research team consists of scientists from the Spanish Polytechnic University of Valencia and the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology in Spain. They conducted a survey among more than 100 participants and observed their performance on sensory tests after volunteers tried six different types of yogurt .

In one of the milks there is added skimmed milk powder, while in the other there is added buttermilk protein. The third yoghurt was given as a control without changing its content. The other types of yoghurt are the same as the first three, with the difference that 3% more starch is added to them.

The researchers found that yogurt with added skim milk and starch saturates the participants to the greatest extent, SienceDaily reported .
