Most Diets Have The Same Effect

No matter how much we choose which of all the diets read or shared by a friend to start, the result of each of them will be the same. This conclusion was reached by American scientists.

The typical diet helps people lose about 6% of their weight and after a while the weight returns. The drugs are also proving ineffective, says Dr. Michael Densinger of Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston. He also said that work is being done to clarify the factors that determine the effect of the diet in order to improve it.

Unfortunately, programs that anyone can get involved in reducing calorie intake, although better than a simple consultation on what measures a person needs to take, do not show very encouraging results. However, losing 6% of the weight achieved in a few years is expected to have a beneficial effect on health - especially cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and others.

Clinical studies conducted by Denzinger among more than 10,000 patients show the same results as those performed so far. Exercise is not taken into account. The lost weight returns slowly - half of it in about three years, and by the fifth - all. The statistics look the same with weight loss drugs.

It has long been proven that weight control is not an easy task. However, achieving it has a good effect on both our health and self-esteem. Diets are an approach to maintaining weight, but their effect, as we know, is sometimes short-lived. In order for the result of our striving for a good figure and a healthy spirit to be lasting, we must change our way of life. Transient efforts prove futile.
