The lack of sugar in these drinks has unexpected effects on the health of the consumer.
Many people are deceived by replacing their favorite sweetened drinks with "dietary" ones.
Misled by loud "sugar-free" ads, people automatically think this is the better choice for them. But isn't this choice a bigger mistake?
A major problem for buyers of diet soda or diet cola is that they totally confuse their body. Yes, there is no sugar in these drinks, but there are synthetic sweeteners, mainly aspartame, which are thousands of times sweeter than regular sugar. This leads the body to believe that a large amount of sugar has been ingested and it responds immediately - through the production of huge doses of insulin, which must cope with this invasion of jam. But after not finding an adequate amount of sugar, insulin directly began to do its other main task - the deposition of lipids in adipose tissue. Thus, although no sugar is taken from the drink, the opposite of the advertised effect is achieved - weight gain.
Another amazing "plus" of "diet" drinks, and especially the diet car, is mentioned in this year's American "Journal of Clinical Nutrition": diet drinks increase the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. A study was conducted with over 66 thousand women. It shows that when consuming one glass of 350 milliliters per day, the risk of diabetes jumps by 33%, and with two (700 milliliters) - 66%!
Conclusion - the very name of these products is a common misconception - not only are they not dietary, but they are also dangerous: they accelerate weight gain, predispose to diabetes and, due to their artificial sweeteners, are considered addictive.
