The concept of "unloading day" is known to everyone. And what is the right unloading day, our expert nutritionist will tell you.

If you're looking for an easy way to lose extra pounds, consider giving your stomach just one rest day a week. And if you decide to give such a gift, do not be lazy to ask a nutritionist for advice. After all, you can feel quite well, and not even suspect the presence of, for example, increased acidity, and if you choose the wrong product for the unloading day, you risk provoking the development of the disease.

Nutritionist Nataliya Samoilenko told us about the rules and principles of organizing unloading days.

Discharge days are different and are selected strictly individually in each specific case and for each patient.

What is a discharge day and what should it be?

An unloading day (RD) is an excellent way to give the digestive organs, especially the digestive glands, an opportunity to rest. In RD, we eat one or two natural products (fruit or kefir or cheese, etc.). Do not confuse RD with complete hunger, because during RD the body receives food, which means it does not feel stress.

Discharge days are different and are selected strictly individually in each specific case and for each patient. Thanks to the observance of this principle, such days are better tolerated both physiologically and psychologically. It is highly desirable that the unloading takes place on your favorite products. For one it's baked apples, for another it's kefir, for a third it's rice or buckwheat.

There are many options for unloading days, the following types are classified by classification:

  • Carbohydrate days
  • Protein days
  • Fat days

Having chosen any of the types of RD, the general points should be taken into account:

  • the frequency of meals increases up to 8 and even 10 times
  • it is mandatory to drink about 2.5 liters. water
  • products of unloading days are usually advised to alternate between each other

What are the benefits of unloading days for the body?

It is known that the digestion process is hard work for our gastrointestinal tract. Doing hard work every day, the so-called gastrointestinal system is worn out. That is why it is advisable to give her rest - unloading days. Such days are necessary for:

  • reducing the effects of overeating and "belly holidays"
  • adding dynamics to the weight loss process
  • to shift the scale needle to the weight plateau period
  • a decrease in the volume of the stomach, because the portion sizes in RD are small
  • allow you to maintain the achieved weight at a constant level, without the yo-yo effect.

Who under no circumstances should resort to unloading days?

There is a group of diseases in which RD is contraindicated, primarily severe nervous and mental illnesses. Practically all people with other diseases can choose a suitable RD. For example, diabetics should not use fruit RD. Patients with ulcerative lesions of the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines should avoid a large amount of fiber and organic acids, that is, there is no need to load up on citrus fruits and raw vegetable salads. People with constipation are not suitable for rice unloading days. With kidney diseases, you should avoid protein unloading days, that is, you can not "sit" on eggs, cheese and meat.

By spending the unloading days correctly, you will be able to lose extra pounds faster and improve your well-being.
