The hot season is also characterized by outbreaks of intestinal infections. What to eat when our stomach suffers?
Summer intestinal infections usually go away in 1-3 days. More endangered by them are children and more sensitive organisms, people with chronic diseases. Diarrhea as a symptom in itself is not dangerous, but requires, especially a lot in combination with feverand vomiting , taking measures to prevent dehydration. This is the first and most important rule in therapeutic measures in conditions of diarrhea. It is necessary to take measures to maintain the water-electrolyte balance, intake of saline solutions. When diarrhea lasts more than a day, it is good to provide the body with enough salted or sweetened fluids - for example, compote juice, sweetened tea, lean broth.
Whether the body is dehydrated can be judged by the color of the urine - if it is different from that of diluted lemonade, you should drink more. Another indicator is the rare urges for small needs.
The dietary regimediarrhea is mainly due to two reasons: there are foods that can irritate the already hypersensitive gastrointestinal tract and further worsen its condition; the products that are desirable to consume should provide the body with the currently necessary nutrients and help calm the digestive system.
During the first day, gastroenterologists recommend eating simple foods - rice, potatoes - cooked, without spices, bananas, toast, plain salads. Although products of animal origin are not among the recommended, it is permissible to eat roasted chicken, but without fat and skin, in small quantities for the day.
Products containing probiotics are also useful for the gastrointestinal tract . They are found in some yogurts, but the choice of the latter should be careful - the brand should be tested and the product well preserved. However, it is good to consume milk after the symptoms subside, to normalize the intestinal microflora.
