Consumption of sesame seeds, rice bran oil and low-fat yogurt can help lower blood pressure and improve cardiovascular tone.
A study found that a mixture of sesame and rice bran oil lowered blood pressure almost as effectively as drugs designed for this purpose.
It is attended by 300 people with high blood pressure, taking medication to regulate it. During the study period, the drugs were replaced by the consumption of 35 grams of a mixture of sesame and rice bran oil. Admission is daily for 60 days.
The researchers found that blood pressure dropped significantly and found that in combination with specific medications, the effect would be twofold. They explain that the consumption of other healthy fats such as olive oil , avocados , nuts, oily fish and flaxseed can also have a similar effect on health.
Another similar study looked at the benefits of yogurt and found that regular consumption reduced the risk of high blood pressure .
2000 middle-aged people with diagnosed hypertension take part . The health of the participants was monitored for 14 years. The research team found that volunteers were 31% less likely to worsen their blood pressure when they consumed more than 2% of the daily calories that can be obtained with yogurt.
