"Size is not the main thing" - this is not about the kitchen. The smaller the area of your culinary workshop, the greater the chance of eternal chaos and not at all creative mess.
"Size is not the main thing" - this is not about the kitchen. The smaller the area of your culinary workshop, the greater the chance of eternal chaos and not at all creative mess. Making a small kitchen beautiful and comfortable is a task for "crazy hands", because every little thing is important in this business.
We have collected 10 ideas for you on how to organize a small kitchen space in your home conveniently and tastefully.
1. Neat, thin steel or wooden shelves will complement your interior and will not look bulky. On the shelves we have jars of cereals, a salt shaker, a pepper shaker, a sugar bowl, a teapot. With this alignment, you will have more space to work with culinary delights, and all the small "working tools" that once interfered will be at arm's length.
2. The entire area of a small kitchen should be used to the maximum. It used to be window sills that served as flower stands, today they are increasingly extending window sills, putting countertops on them - and voila: a work surface with natural light in your kitchen is ready. This arrangement is not only convenient and economical, but also very original and beautiful.
3. Another little hack for a small kitchen is a curtain wall for kitchen supplies. Wouldn't it be convenient to take a spatula that hangs right in front of you or on the side of the kitchen cabinet? I answer you - it is very convenient and takes up much less space than a cabinet in which all the spoons and ladles would be stored.
4. Let's not forget about storing knives. From personal experience, I want to say that it is worth getting rid of individual coasters. Firstly, such coasters are very difficult to wash, because in any case crumbs, dust and so on will collect in the hole for the knife, and secondly, no matter how sad it may sound, but the use of such coasters is gone in the old days and is simply not fashionable, and it takes up a decent amount of space on the work surface. I recommend you a magnetic panel. It does not take up much space, holds knives and scissors firmly, and is also easy to clean.
5. There are also problems with appliances in a small kitchen. Where to hide it? There is no place in the drawers for all the electronic goodness. A profitable and convenient way to use space is to place everything in a conspicuous place. Yes, there is nothing to hide anywhere. Opposite the working kitchen surface, arrange all the appliances in a row. This method will make cooking easier, and you will see how much more free space will appear.
6. It will be convenient to dry dishes right next to the sink. The dryer will not take up much space, but it will look organic. In care, such an organization for drying dishes is very convenient and ergonomic.
7. Be smart about storing pots, pans and other containers. A corner cabinet with rotating shelves is what you need. So all the containers will be easily located and you won’t need to get everything out of the box to take the “same” pan.
8. As for stewpans, skimmers, spatulas and other small utensils, it is better to use hanging hooks. They can also be hidden in a box. All utensils will be visible and easily accessible.
9. For convenience in working in the kitchen, lighting can be connected above the sink or work surface using an LED strip. Additional visual lighting will increase the space and come to the aid of the hostess in case of insufficient surface illumination, for example, under a drawer.
10. On the door of the drawer with dishes it is convenient to store lids from pots, pans and stewpans. The design is simply attached to the inside of the door, does not take up space and is very convenient to use.
We hope that our tips will help make your kitchen even more comfortable and inspire you to experiment!
