The study involved 140,220 people from Sweden and Finland. In both countries, coffee doses are significantly higher and stronger.
 
Researchers have found benefits for those who drink two glasses. This benefit, however, begins to disappear when people drink more coffee.
 
The results show that an average of two cups of coffee a day can reduce the risk of heart failure and other cardiovascular problems by 11%.
 
Some scientists are skeptical of the study data due to the fact that it is limited by several criteria. The study mainly looks at people living in Europe, moreover, it does not analyze the effects of caffeine in general and the results cannot be taken for other beverages such as tea, for example.
 
The results of the study are published in the journal Circulation Heart Failure .
 
A recent similar study found that people with mild cognitive impairment or memory loss who have high levels of caffeine in their blood are at low risk of developing dementia.
 
Scientists suggest that the caffeine contained in the hot drink offers some protection against Alzheimer's.
