Overweight people are often criticized by others, which has a negative impact on their self-esteem. Here are some tips to motivate weight loss ...
It is true that most people strive to lose weight for health reasons. It is also true that many do it because they want to look better, which is completely understandable, because the way we look "outside" greatly affects the way we perceive ourselves.
Overweight people are often criticized by others, which has a negative impact on their self-esteem. This is not uncommon for them to become depressed. Experts, on the other hand, explain that people with low self-esteem tend to consume more food. This is how their defense mechanism works. The will to physical activity then disappears altogether. So, if we are determined to get rid of extra pounds, we must start with a change in our thinking ...
1. To turn negative thoughts into positive
Negativism prevents us from achieving our goals. However, if we focus on the good things around us and start seeing "the glass half full", it would help us achieve the desired goal. Instead of saying "I can't do it," we should say "I can," instead of "I don't have time to train." - "I'll find time." Positive thinking is the first and most important step to success.
2. To live in the present, not in the past
Probably many of us have had unpleasant experiences at school, which very often leave a trauma for life. We must not allow the ridicule of our classmates to oppress and demotivate us. Instead, let's prove to them and to ourselves that we can achieve the figure we want. We should not think that this is the way we look from school, but to abstract from unpleasant memories and not give up on the goal.
3. Forgive
While we are in the process of losing weight, we need to be calm and aware that healthy weight loss is a slow process. Weight loss will be followed by fatigue and constant tiredness. If we are tempted by our favorite delicacy, there is nothing wrong with eating a little. But we must also learn to forgive each other after that.
4. Don't blame your genes
The fact that our family members are overweight is by no means an excuse for us. We are the ones who decide how much to eat and whether to exercise. We should not let others stop us from living healthily, but to decide for ourselves.
5. Monitor the progress of weight loss
To maintain our motivation, it would be useful to keep a diary, for example, to record the results already achieved, as well as the way we feel about our success so far. In this way we will be motivated to continue to eat healthy and exercise regularly, and in moments of weakness, the reminder of an achievement and the mood achieved by it will charge us again with enthusiasm.
6. Reward our success
When we see that we are successful in the fight against weight gain, we should rejoice. Let's say, "I did great!" Losing weight is not an easy task, no matter how easy it may seem from the side.
Once we have made an effort to get a beautiful figure through a regime and daily sports, at the end of the week we could be rewarded with a new personal purchase or even a favorite treat. We deserve it!
7. Being with a friend more often The
close people who support us and are always by our side would motivate us further in this difficult task to lose weight. People like to hear others tell us how good we look, which in turn would redouble our efforts to lose unwanted weight.
