To avoid exacerbation of appendicitis, you should not overeat and try to keep the products consumed natural and fresh.
The appendix , whose function was to support the stable functioning of the immune system, can become a serious threat to the body, namely inflammation of the appendix of the appendix (caecum), which in medicine is called appendicitis . Without timely surgery to correct the problem, the outcome can be fatal.

Foods that have a beneficial effect on the gastrointestinal tract are:
- pears - are rich in fiber necessary for normal bowel function; contain glucose, which does not require insulin to be absorbed by the body, which is very useful in problems with the pancreas;
- oatmeal - thanks to its rich chemical composition normalizes bowel function and is considered an excellent means of prevention against constipation and diarrhea; its consumption contributes to the removal of lead from the body.
- brown rice - it is not processed, so it retains all its nutrients; the cellulose which is a part of it, improves work of a gastrointestinal tract;
- organic yogurt - contains lactic acid bacteria that help improve digestion and optimize the intestinal flora;
- berry - are sources of dietary fiber and antioxidants, enrich the body with nutrients and vitamins;
- lettuce - contains glucosinolates, which contribute to the removal of heavy metals from the body and to the purification of the liver; it is rich in beta-carotene and folic acid;

- prunes - rich in fiber, pectins, vitamins and trace elements, which are especially important for the work of the gastrointestinal tract;
- tomatoes - have anti-inflammatory antibacterial properties due to their phytoncides, fructose, glucose, mineral salts, iodine, potassium, magnesium, sodium, manganese, calcium, iron, vitamins E, PP, A, B6, B, B2 , C, K, beta-carotene, organic acids and the antioxidant lycopene;
- carrots - help to normalize the entire human digestive system; they are rich in vitamins of groups B, K, C, PP, E, potassium, magnesium, iron, copper, phosphorus, cobalt, chromium, iodine, zinc, fluorine, nickel;
- cabbage - this vegetable copes well with constipation, helps to normalize digestion and enriches the body with useful vitamins;
- beets - contains many pectin substances, which makes it an excellent protector of the body from the action of heavy metals; also these substances contribute to the excretion of cholesterol and slow down the development of harmful microorganisms in the intestine;
- seaweed - rich in chlorophyll, which has a pronounced anticancer effect, contains vitamin C and carotenoids;
- green peas - helps reduce the sensation of pain in appendicitis;
Harmful foods for appendicitis
Do not eat seeds and nuts with flakes and berries with seeds, because they clog the intestines, getting into the appendix, where they rot.
To limit:
- meat products that are difficult to digest should be minimized in acute appendicitis;
- fried fats - contribute to the development of putrefactive microflora in the appendix and thus cause exacerbation of appendicitis;
- chips and carbonated drinks - contain sugar, artificial ingredients, aspartame and other harmful substances;
- fast food - such food is rich in carcinogens and leads to constipation;
- sausages and smoked products - they have dyes and flavors, carcinogens, benzopyrene and phenol;
- chewing candies, lollipops, chocolate - due to the presence of a lot of sugar, additives and colors in them;
- mayonnaise - contains trans fats, preservatives, stabilizers;
- ketchup and dressings;
- large amounts of alcohol;
- margarine - and it has trans fat.

All foods that are listed as good for digestion are recommended if you have not had surgery for appendicitis. In case the problem has already been eliminated surgically, the diet is significantly changed.
