According to some widespread rumors, the consumption of carbonated water can be harmful to health.

Water is vital for the proper functioning and health of the body - a fact repeatedly pointed out by experts. That is why it is important to consume it regularly. But what about sparkling water? There are claims in space that it can harm our health. What are these rumors and where is the truth?
 

Carbonated water does not hydrate as much as non-carbonated

The carbon dioxide found in this drink is the cause of the bubbles in it. However, it does not prevent the absorption of water by the body . According to a study in the field after intense training, carbonated water can replace body fluids as effectively as non-carbonated. 
 

It is harmful to teeth and bones

Carbonic acid is formed by the interaction between carbon dioxide and water and can lead to erosion of tooth enamel when in high concentrations. Experts explain that if we do not consume excessive amounts of carbonated water every day and there is no acidic fruit juice or added sugar in it , our smile is safe. 
 
A study examining the effects of carbonated water in women with low bone density found that its consumption did not harm bones . 
 
 
 

Leads to weight gain

 
It is true that this water causes bloating , but in the long run it can be beneficial. According to experts, carbonated water is significantly more filling, and the fuller we feel, the less we tend to eat between meals. 
 
The important thing in this case is to avoid those products that contain artificial sweeteners. 
 

Causes heartburn


Researchers have debunked this rumor, but still, if there is a predisposition to acid reflux , it is advisable to stick to still water . This is especially important during meals.
