The substance luteolin, contained in carrots, protects against memory loss by reducing the intensity of inflammatory processes responsible for lowering cognitive functions.

In a clinical study to confirm the protective properties of the substance luteolin on brain activity, scientists found that with natural aging, immune cells in the brain begin to produce inflammatory molecules. They lead to memory problems. According to scientists, luteolin blocks the production of these inflammatory molecules in the brain.

Luteolin is also found in black pepper, celery, mint, rosemary and chamomile. Scientists suggest that the use of these spices and herbs may prevent memory problems in middle-aged and elderly people.
