Catalan Cream

Ingredients: 4 Cups Fresh Milk 8 Egg Yolks Peel 1/2 Lemon Peel But 1/2 Orange 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar 2 Tbsp Cornstarch 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract 1 Cinnamon Stick Preparation

Necessary products:

  • 4 cups of fresh milk  
  • 8 egg yolks
  • peel of 1/2 lemon
  • peel but 1/2 orange
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cinnamon stick

 

Preparation:

Dissolve the starch in 3 cups of milk. Separately beat the yolks with the sugar, add to them the milk with the starch and the finely grated orange and lemon peel. Add the vanilla extract to the fourth glass of milk and warm. Beat with a mixer and add the milk-egg mixture without stopping to beat. Then leave the cream on low heat when it thickens - remove from the heat and remove the cinnamon stick.

Distribute the finished dessert in molds before serving, sprinkle with brown sugar and leave for 5-6 minutes grill to form caramel.
