Cherries - For A Slim Waist And Restful Sleep

If warm milk or chamomile tea does not help you sleep well, cherry juice may be an effective method.

In addition to pleasing the senses, cherries are also extremely good for health.

For those suffering from arthritis and gout , the juicy fruit can bring relief as it reduces the intensity of the pain associated with these diseases. The culprit for the excruciating pain is the high levels of uric acid in the blood, which leads to swelling, tenderness and inflammation of the joints.

A study conducted by the US Department of Agriculture found that uric acid levels  can be reduced by up to 15% with just two glasses of cherries . The fruit also helps reduce painful inflammation by reducing the amount of C-reactive protein produced in the blood.

It is known that the characteristic red pigment in cherries "comes" from flavonoids - powerful antioxidants that help the body fight free radicals. The cyanidin found in cherries is an anthocyanin flavonoid that inhibits the growth of cancer cells. Cherries with the highest content of anthocyanins are sweet cherries with the most saturated pigment.

If warm milk or chamomile tea does not help you sleep well, cherry juice may be an effective method. This action is due to the melatonin contained in them. The hormone "evokes" a feeling of drowsiness.

Cherries are also an excellent source of potassium, which helps reduce blood pressure levels by ridding the body of excess sodium. Thus, potassium and sodium levels in the blood are balanced, which can prevent the development of hypertension .

The fruit, in addition to being very tasty, is also low in calories. The amount of one cup of cherries contains less than 100 calories and 3 g of fiber, thanks to which the feeling of satiety lasts longer.

Cherries are also rich in B vitamins such as thiamine, riboflavin and vitamin B6, which are essential for metabolism and convert nutrients into energy.
