Cherries - The High Content Of Vitamin C Is Evident In Their Taste

Cherries are a source of vitamins A and C. Due to their sour taste, they are unlikely to be consumed in sufficient quantities in raw form, but ...

The most popular varieties of the cherry fruit, loved by all, are the wild cherry, which is distinguished by its sweet taste, and the cherry, which is associated with its "cousin". Fresh cherries have about six times more vitamin A than fresh cherries. Both types of fruit are a great source of vitamin C.

However, the problem is the sour taste of cherries, which does not allow the consumption of the fruit in sufficient quantities in raw form. Zane Stewart, who is in charge of food and recipe sections at Gourmet magazine , explains that because of this feature, cherries are better consumed in different dishes. Precisely because of the sour taste, cherries are the preferred fruit for flavoring various dishes.

The taste of lamb, for example, perfectly complements that of cherries. Stewart explains that cherry juice complements the natural taste of the meat without being suppressed by it.

Cherries are a great addition to desserts, dishes, salads, side dishes and various drinks.

Adding sugar to cherries during cooking helps to release more juice from the fruit. In addition, sugar balances their taste in the dish.
