Meats and vegetables should be cooked or grilled, not fried in breadcrumbs and harmful hydrogenated fats, as they are high in calories and lead to obesity.
If we want to change our diet, spring is the perfect time to do so. First we need to make a list of a variety of products. Many people think that when they cook at home, they eat much better quality food because they know what's on their plate. But this is not quite so, because each of us makes a few major mistakes that are detrimental to our health.
We made homemade mayonnaise from cottage cheese and avocado. But it has been in the fridge for a few days now and we wonder if it is edible at all. The first thing that comes to mind is to try, but this decision can cause us stomach discomfort. Some refrigerators can store food for weeks, but if a dangerous bacterium gets into it, it can sour and smell the day after cooking. Another thing - if the mixture does not smell, it can lead us to disgust. to find that what we have swallowed is corrupted. That is, tasting can bring us food poisoning, so it is better not to keep something cooked in the refrigerator for too long.
Carrots, broccoli, corn, radishes, beets, celery, for example, can be stored in bags in the refrigerator, but not completely closed so that more fresh air can reach them.
Another mistake we make when cooking is that we do not clean the surface on which we have cleaned or cut the raw meat well enough. As a rule, dishes that come into contact with raw meat, poultry, seafood or eggs should be washed thoroughly, because the juices from these raw products may contain harmful bacteria, including Escherichia coli and those of the genus Salmonella. These bacteria die during heat treatment, but the juices remain on unwashed surfaces and can infect us if they enter the body.
Some housewives always try what they cook before removing it from the stove. But getting uncooked egg or meat into the body, even dough, poses a risk to our health. Again, harmful bacteria are to blame for this, which can cause food poisoning, vomiting, diarrhea, fluid loss.
A common mistake of people who cook is to defrost for too long. Sometimes we leave the minced meat on the stove, forget it and think about it only after 5-6 hours. And during that time, the bacteria in it have multiplied. In this regard, it is better to take a product from the freezer from the day before and leave it to thaw in the refrigerator.
Health risks will be minimized if we do not make these mistakes during cooking. We will not have stomach upsets if we buy our food from selected producers and read the labels more often.
