Urolithiasis is a disease that traditional medicine associates with the formation of stones in the kidneys and / or other organs of the urinary system. It can affect people of all ages (from newborns to the elderly). The type of stones usually depends on the age of the patient. The main reason for the appearance of urolithiasis is the disturbed metabolism, especially the change of the water-salt and chemical composition of the blood. But kidney stones would not develop if there were no preconditions for this, for example:
- hereditary burden;
- chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (gastritis, colitis, ulcers, etc.) and the genitourinary system (pyelonephritis, prostatitis, prostate adenoma, cystitis, etc.);
- impaired parathyroid function;
- osteomyelitis, osteoporosis and other bone diseases or injuries;
- prolonged dehydration due to poisoning or infectious disease;
- deficiency of vitamins in the body, especially vitamin D;
- continuous abuse of products that increase the acidity of urine (sour, salty, spicy);
- intake of hard water with high salt content;
- geographical location - people living in hot climates have a higher risk of developing the disease.
We offer you a list of products and foods that you can eat and those that are not recommended to consume if you suffer from kidney stones.
