Diet for chronic gastritis includes all components for normal life, but at the same time takes into account the special condition of the gastric mucosa.
Chronic gastritis is one of the most common diseases of the digestive system. Among diseases of the stomach, it occurs most often and is accompanied by a long-term inflammatory process in the mucous membrane of the stomach. As a result of restructuring of the mucosal structure and atrophy of the glandular epithelium, the work of the stomach is disturbed.
With chronic gastritis, exacerbations alternate with phases of remissions. The special composition and regime of nutrition in this disease is a mandatory component of treatment, along with taking drugs, phytotherapy, combating concomitant factors, and sanatorium-resort treatment. Diet for chronic gastritis depends on the current phase and individual tolerance. During an exacerbation, the restrictions are stricter, and during remission, the diet can be significantly expanded. But in any case, food must contain the amount of nutrients and minerals, vitamins necessary for the normal functioning of the body .
Basics of diet for chronic gastritisWith this disease, it is recommended to eat often and in small portions. In the morning, it is recommended to take a small amount of food, since immediately after waking up, the secretion of digestive enzymes is inhibited, and large portions are burdensome for the stomach. It is forbidden to drink coffee or cocoa (even weak) in the morning, as they will irritate the stomach lining.
After 2-3 hours after breakfast, it is advisable to have a light snack again, and the third meal is already at lunch time. After 2-3 hours - lunch. Overeating is also not allowed at dinner.
It is very important to follow the diet. Do not take long breaks between meals. To help your digestive system work rhythmically, learn to eat at a strictly defined time, at least 4 times a day, chewing your food thoroughly. If you do not have the opportunity to get or heat food at the right time, carry a thermos with food.
In case of exacerbation of chronic gastritis, regardless of acidity, diet table No. 1 is prescribed. The task of the diet is to provide rest to the sick stomach, to relieve it of excessive irritation. Therefore, food is taken exclusively in pureed form, boiled or steamed. Strict restrictions usually apply for a period of 1-2 months.
Outside the period of exacerbation of gastritis with reduced or zero acidity, diet table No. 2 is indicated, and during the period of remission (stable recovery) - diet No. 15.
Very cold or hot dishes, spicy spices, fatty meat and fish, smoked meats and canned snacks should be excluded from the diet.
Recommended products and dishesWith diet No. 1 , it is allowed to eat:
Diet No. 2 , on the one hand, spares the mucous membrane, and on the other, it stimulates the secretion of gastric juice and the production of hydrochloric acid.
With diet No. 2, soups based on low-fat, low-fat meat or fish broth are already allowed; on mushroom decoctions. If tolerated - borschts and soups from fresh white cabbage and beets; pickles with pureed vegetables and brine instead of pickles. You can cook baked and fried omelets, but without a rough crust. Doctor's and milk sausages are allowed. Soft fruits and berries are allowed to be eaten unmashed. You can also prepare sauces on meat, fish, vegetable, mushroom broths. Onions, cucumbers, radishes, radishes, as well as mushrooms are still on the prohibited list.
Diet No. 15 is based on the principle of physiologically adequate nutrition and does not require mechanical and chemical sparing of the gastric mucosa. Rye bread, raw and unmashed vegetables and fruits are allowed in it, but fatty types of meat are still prohibited. Consumption of smoked products, canned meat and fish is limited. Excluded or limited vegetables containing coarse fiber and essential oils - turnip, radish, radish, as they irritate the mucous membrane.
As practice shows, the main cause of exacerbations of chronic gastritis is non-compliance with medical recommendations, primarily in nutrition. Adherence to the diet and diet in chronic gastritis largely affect how long the remission of the disease will last.
