Mediterranean diet

In order to get in shape, nutritionists have long recommended paying attention to this diet . The main food systems include a pyramid diet based on slow carbohydrates (brown rice, durum wheat pasta, bulgur, quinoa). Nutritionists recommend supplementing the menu with energy fuel - vegetables and fruits. Also, do not forget about fermented milk products without additives and low-fat fresh cheeses.

The Mediterranean food system provides approximately the following diet :

  • Fish (salmon, tuna, trout) and seafood - 4 times a week.

  • Lean meat - 2-5 times a week.

  • Lean red meat - no more than 1-2 times a week.

  • Eggs - 2-4 pcs per week.

  • Fruits - 3 servings daily.

  • Vegetables (fresh and baked) - 2 times a day.

  • Yogurt, sour cream, cheese - every day.

Approximate menu for the day
  • Breakfast - yogurt with berries and oats.

  • Lunch - mashed cauliflower soup with cream, fish salad dressed with olive oil, fruit for dessert.

  • Dinner - a vegetable salad with a sandwich made of whole grain bread and cheese.
