According to studies, 50% of coffee consumers experience a withdrawal syndrome when trying to give up the drink.
Often next to our hand instead of a cup of water, there is a cup of coffee, which we refuel throughout the day. Even if the coffee is "weak", in such use people usually complain of rapid heartbeat, muscle spasms, and unexplained fatigue.
Caffeine overconsumption also carries the risk of addiction, experts say.
Undoubtedly, caffeine has health benefits, but it is not completely harmless.
According to statistics, coffee lovers consume an average of 2-3 cups a day, with an acceptable amount of 1-2 cups from a health point of view. Each contains between 85-140 mg of caffeine.
It is estimated that the use of 5 or more cups of coffee a day is a serious risk of heart failure and high blood pressure.
Some of the signs of caffeine addiction include anxiety, chest pain, fatigue, nausea and headaches.

Caffeine is thought to affect brain activity. The substance resembles adenosine, a molecule that induces sleep and slows down the body's nervous system.
However, caffeine does not have the same effect as adenosine. Instead of slowing down the nervous system, caffeine speeds it up, and adenosine is unable to act. The more caffeine we consume, the more addicted we become to it, according to the American Running and Fitness Association .
Caffeine also increases the production of dopamine, which activates the pleasure centers of the brain - another cause that can lead to addiction.
Let's not forget, however, that when consuming a hot beverage in moderation, coffee is not so harmful. A study from 2008 shows that long-term use of caffeinated products does not pose a danger of short life expectancy, even reduces that of cardiovascular disease. So far, research has yielded conflicting results on the subject.
Daily and moderate consumption of coffee - up to 3 cups a day, is considered a favorable way to both invigorate and maintain good health.
Coffee is believed to aid digestion and also reduce the risk of certain cancers - colon, brain, oral and pharyngeal, prostate, breast. It also protects against Parkinson's disease, as well as the formation of kidney stones.
Thanks to caffeine, coffee stimulates concentration and increases attention, and also has a positive effect on mood due to its antioxidant properties.
