Eat Beans If You Want A Healthy Heart!

Not only beans, but legumes in general protect our cardiovascular health - do not exclude them from your table.

Consumption of legumes - these are beans, peas, lentils and more. legumes - reduces the risk of developing cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure and coronary heart disease according to a new study presented in the journal Advances in Nutrition.

People with the highest consumption of legumes have a 10% lower incidence of cardiovascular disease, coronary heart disease and hypertension than those who rarely put them on their table.

The conclusion is based on a review of several cohort studies that assess the importance of legume consumption in relation to cardiometabolic diseases and related markers.

The incidence of cardiovascular disease and high. Their treatment is after the most expensive and at the same time they remain the leading cause of death for millions of people. This also applies to Bulgarians. According to the Ministry of Health in Bulgaria, for every 3 people, 2 die from cardiovascular diseases. In other words, they are the cause of 65% of deaths in the country.

According to the study's author, Dr. Hana Kahleova, director of clinical research at the Medical Committee for Responsible Medicine in the United States, nature has given us an extremely affordable and inexpensive way to control the risk of cardiovascular complaints.

According to nutritionists, the heart-beneficial effect of legumes is due to fiber, plant proteins and trace elements in them. At the same time, legumes do not contain cholesterol and are a food with a low glycemic index, which is an important quality given our busy menu with fast carbohydrates.

Legumes entered the Bulgarian table several centuries ago and are part of our traditional national cuisine. However, the fact is that with the advent of the Western style of eating and the opening of markets, our diet has begun to exclude them and many generations prefer to emphasize the hamburger in front of a bowl of delicious bean soup, for example.

Beans, like other legumes, however, can be consumed in a modern version - to become part of a rich salad with dressing or a precise dish with garnish and legumes.

One extra serving a day turns out to be a tool with which we can lower blood pressure, says Dr. Kahleova.
