The group consuming protein at breakfast showed reduced brain activity of the center responsible for appetite. This means having control over the desire to consume food.
A high-protein breakfast reduces the desire for a heavy, high-calorie dinner, the research team explains.
According to nutritionists, a balanced diet should include 3 to 5 meals a day, the first of which must be breakfast. It should supply the body with about 25% of the daily energy intake.
