In the last few years, more and more information has appeared about the impact of nutrition on health. And what is more shocking is that our own health depends not only on our diet, but also on the nutrition of our parents and grandparents.
The latest research in this aspect shows that a high-fat diet in men carries a higher risk of developing breast cancer in the female generation.
The study was conducted by a research team from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and was presented in the journal Breast Cancer Research this month.
Researchers led by Thomas Ont also found that a diet rich in vegetable , not animal, fats had the opposite effect, meaning that the risk of breast cancer in daughters decreased, which sounds encouraging enough and still gives us some tool to control within the taste preferences of men.
The results are not based on empirical research, but on laboratory research , which speaks volumes about the seriousness of the data. A similar study is to be conducted in humans, which will take a long time, but if one day these data are confirmed, it will require a major change in the program for prevention of insidious disease and improving the culture of nutrition among the population, experts say.
Men, alas, need more support to change their diet. Their preferences for meat food are known. This does not necessarily mean stopping the consumption of your favorite sausages, meatballs and kebabs, but still to move to a richer variety of foods, without the regime becoming expensive and special. So ladies, if you want to be a girl, you have no choice but to work well on your loved one's eating habits or then pass on good eating habits to your sons.
After skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common malignancy. Among Bulgarian women, breast cancer is the most common - 26.4% according to the National Cancer Registry for 2012, excluding non-melanoma skin cancers.
A number of factors influence the risk of developing breast cancer, including, above all, family history and genetic predisposition. It turns out that the lifestyle that the father leads can also be considered one of the serious factors in the development of this malignant disease. Only a month ago, the results of another study were published, which found that obesity in the father leads to genetic changes in sperm, which subsequently increases the risk of breast cancer in their daughters.
Brazilian researchers suggest that here, too, there are changes in miRNAs and protein expressions in the father's semen, which mutations are later found in breast tissue in the female generation. These genetic mutations are associated with cell growth, resistance and longevity.
The researchers note that both this study and the previous one found the same thing - a change in eating habits and physical activity normalized miRNA expression. So we have nothing left but a few servings of meat to replace them with fish or seafood and what a more favorable period for this than summer. And nothing prevents us from stimulating the walking of fish, right ?!
