Allergies to nuts and other foods appear in early childhood. Among children studied between 1988 and 2005, it was found that the manifestation of allergy is present at about 14 months of age in those born after 2000, and among those born earlier - between 22 and 24 months.

According to psychologists, it is reasonable for children prone to allergic reactions, products containing nuts to be given at a later stage in life - when a possible reaction would be much easier to control. The reaction usually occurs shortly after consuming the product - with the appearance of a rash or swelling, in more severe cases difficulty breathing or vomiting.

The efforts of doctors are aimed at understanding the reasons why the frequency of food allergies is increasing and, accordingly, what measures are needed to limit them.
