In which cases does combining eggs and milk in one meal become dangerous to health?
More and more data is being collected to prove the thesis that most gastrointestinal problems are due to the wrong combination of foods in our menu. Concomitant consumption of certain products in one meal can make it difficult to digest food and cause upset stomach, constipation, gas and heaviness in the stomach. However, one of the combinations that hides a minimal risk of such side effects is the simultaneous consumption of eggs and milk .
Both eggs and dairy products are among the most complete foods in terms of the content of essential nutrients, trace elements and vitamins. Both foods are high in protein , including some of the essential amino acids . Separately, eggs are rich in essential fatty acids, and milk - in calcium and magnesium. Combining dairy products and eggs in one meal is a very convenient way to balance protein intake. This is the reason why such a combination is among the favorites of people who work to gain extra muscle mass.
The main problem with combining milk and eggs is the tendency to use raw eggs in combination with fresh or yogurt to make different shakes. Such a combination of foods poses a certain health risk in 2 directions.
On the one hand, raw eggs, as well as poorly cooked ones, can contain life-threatening bacteria that can lead to food poisoning . On the other hand, raw eggs contain a specific type of protein that binds to biotin in food and prevents it from being absorbed in the intestinal tract. Thus, regular consumption of raw eggs creates a serious risk of chronic biotin deficiency. Biotin is an important vitamin of group B (B7) with a major role in maintaining the condition of the skin, hair and nails. Milk is among the foods rich in biotin, but its consumption at the same time with raw eggs will interfere with the absorption of the important vitamin.
The restrictions in this case apply only to the combination of dairy products with raw or poorly heat-treated eggs. With sufficient culinary processing, they can be combined with milk without restrictions.
Combining eggs and milk in one meal can lead to side effects in people with food allergies. Milk and egg protein are among the most common allergens and their simultaneous consumption can increase the manifestations of allergic reactions in people with high attitudes. In all other cases, however, the combination of eggs and milk is considered not only safe but also useful for obtaining some of the most valuable nutrients.
