For A Healthy Heart - Turmeric

The spice stimulates genes responsible for the proper functioning of the immune system. Has a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system.

Turmeric contains antioxidants that have the ability to rejuvenate the body and prevent the formation of fat deposits on the walls of blood vessels, say French geneticists who aim to understand the effects of the spice on the cardiovascular system at the genetic level.

French scientists are studying the effects of two natural antioxidants, hesperidin and curcumin. In experiments, it was found that when turmeric was consumed for at least four months, experimental mice reduced fat accumulation, including those that lead to blockage of blood vessels, by 26%.

In addition, turmeric has been shown to stimulate genes responsible for the human immune system, leukocyte formation and blood pressure stabilization.
Turmeric has been shown to affect more than 1,820 genes, the activity of which modern genetics defines as beneficial to human health.

At the same time, scientists warn that excessive use of dietary supplements can be harmful. For example, the daily norm of hesperidin, determined by doctors, is 290 mg. Taking more than this, especially when it is daily and for a long period of time, can lead to disorders of the cardiovascular and immune systems.
