Gastritis is an inflammation of the stomach lining. It can be primary, which is considered as a separate disease, or secondary - a consequence of past illnesses, infections, intoxication.

The reason for the exacerbation of this health problem are the consumption of fatty, spicy foods, too cold or hot dishes, taking certain medications, poisoning with acids and bases, microbes in spoiled food.

Chronic gastritis can develop with regular exacerbation of the disease.

Useful foods for gastritis

It is important in gastritis to specify the level of acidity of the stomach, as this will determine the diet to which you need to adhere. For example, in case of low acidity, products that increase the amount of hydrochloric acid should be consumed, and in case of high acidity - on the contrary, lowering the acidity of the stomach.

Nutritionists - gastroenterologists make a list of foods that are useful to take in the presence of gastritis. These are:

  • milk porridge - rice, buckwheat, oats;
  • cooked pasta;
  • rye bread or bakery products made from wholemeal flour;
  • vegetable or milk soups diluted with water;
  • lean meats without skin (chicken, beef, rabbit, beef, turkey);
  • steamed meatballs made from lean minced meat or minced fish;
  • boiled or steamed fish, seafood salads;
  • yogurt products - kefir, fresh cheese, skim milk in limited quantities;
  • raw, roasted or cooked vegetables (carrots, potatoes, cauliflower, turnips, zucchini) or vegetable salads;
  • raw non-sour fruits;
  • honey, sweet;
  • green spices (dill, parsley);
  • vegetable fats (olive, sesame and pumpkin oil ...);
  • rosehip decoction, weak tea or coffee with milk.

Sample menu to reduce stomach acidity

  • Breakfast: buckwheat milk porridge, a cup of tea, cottage cheese souffle.
  • Breakfast: 1 hard-boiled egg.
  • Lunch: oatmeal soup, steamed meat noazets, carrot puree, oshav.
  • Dinner: fish meatballs, some pasta.
  • Before bedtime: yogurt drink.
 

Dangerous and harmful foods in gastritis

It is necessary to limit the use of oil (up to 20 grams per day) and salt.

The banned list of foods includes products containing oxalic acid, extracts, essential oil, which activate the secretion of secretory substances in the stomach and stimulate the pancreas. Yeah, they're like that:

  • fatty fish, also smoked, salted and canned;
  • fresh bread, butter and puff pastry, fried pasta snacks;
  • duck, goose meat, liver, kidney, brain, sausages and canned meat;
  • various creams, whole milk, salty and high-fat cheeses;
  • concentrated broths;
  • hard-boiled and fried eggs;
  • bean foods;
  • some vegetables, such as: garlic, green onions, radishes, mushrooms and spinach;
  • confectionery - cakes, yogurt, unnatural yogurt with additives, other sweets;
  • spices - black pepper, horseradish, mustard;
  • products with increased content of preservatives (ketchup, sauces, mayonnaise);
  • carbonated drinks.
