Studies show that grape seed extract can prevent skin tumors , breast cancer, colon cancer, lung cancer and prostate cancer.

Previous research has also shown that grape seed extract contains polyphenols , with the most concentrated polyphenol being called proanthocyanidin. It is found in the husk and in the juice of the grapes, but has the highest concentration in the seeds.

A powerful phytochemical that is concentrated on the outside of dark red grapes is resveratrol . It has antibacterial and antifungal properties. Resveratrol has been shown to reduce the incidence of tumors and block cancer-stimulating biological compounds.

Animal testing has been performed to show that topical application of grape seed extract to tumors reduces their number and size. It also prevents the transformation of skin papillomas into carcinomas .

According to some studies, the use of grape seed extract is more effective in tumors than some types of chemotherapy to eliminate cancer cells. This ensures targeted action against tumor compounds, while healthy cells remain intact.

It is not clear whether increased consumption of grapes can lead to the same benefits as the use of grape seed extract. The health benefits of fresh fruit are limited, as the seeds are rarely eaten. The beneficial ingredients are effective when consumed in moderation over a long period of time. So a sudden increase in grape consumption after a cancer is diagnosed is unlikely to cure it, but it can increase immunity to fight it.

Grape seed extract also helps with cardiovascular disease , hypertension, high cholesterol, eye diseases associated with diabetes, slows aging, reduces swelling, prevents bacterial and viral infections such as vaginal candidiasis, stops hair loss and controls blood sugar. It is also effective in arthritis, as it increases bone density and strength and reduces joint pain.

Before taking grape seed extract, it is recommended to consult a doctor , as it contains some side effects.
