Harmful Foods - What To Eat And Drink After Them?

Harmful foods cause bloating and stomach pain, here's what to eat and drink after them

Harmful food is something we "sin" with every day. We try to eat healthy, but always some chips, sandwich or french fries will ruin our plans. So we take in more salt, a lot of fat, sugars and artificial flavors or preservatives. This leads to bloating, gas and lazy bowels. The problems are there, so we need to do something to escape the unpleasant feeling of heaviness in the stomach.

It is very important not to exceed the recommended daily intake of sodium (less than 2,300 mg), as well as sugar (up to 6 tablespoons for women and up to 9 teaspoons for men). It is also good to limit the amount of fat (up to 65 g per day or an average of about 2,000 calories per day).

Obesity, metabolic disorders, diabetes and heart problems are the more serious health problems we can get if we do not limit the intake of harmful foods. The first step we need to take is to choose foods and drinks to relieve the feeling of heaviness in the stomach after eating fast food.

If we overdo the harmful food, our body accumulates more sodium. This can raise blood pressure, increase the risk of heart attack, stroke or kidney disease. Therefore, foods rich in potassium counteract sodium. For example, medium-sized bananas contain about 422 mg of potassium, oranges contain between 230 and 350 mg of the mineral, avocados and spinach are also very rich in potassium.

Whole grains are also a good choice after eating unhealthy foods. They saturate us quickly and reduce the desire for sugar and carbohydrates. They are rich in fiber, which in turn supports the gastrointestinal tract.

Foods rich in pure protein are next on the list. For example, turkey meat and chicken breast, which do not burden the digestive system. On the other hand, omega-3 fatty acids in fatty fish (tuna or salmon) fight inflammation caused by preservatives, fats and additives in packaged foods.

Another thing that is ideal for consumption after overeating fatty and too sweet foods is ginger. It melts bad cholesterol in the body, lowers liver triglyceride levels and is a great liver cleanser.

Low-fat yogurt is also very useful. This restores the normal intestinal flora. This is due to the lactobacillus bacteria , which are considered a probiotic that boosts immunity.

Water is also a great ally of the body in the fight against processed foods. Higher amounts of sodium can upset its electrolyte balance and cause dry mouth. This leads to water retention and bloating. The sooner we start drinking more water, the faster we will improve the functioning of the kidneys and intestines. If we drink it warm in the morning on an empty stomach, with a little lemon, we will cleanse the stomach of toxins. This can become our detoxification ritual.

Apart from pure water, different types of juices are also not to be neglected. Cranberry juice (unsweetened) serves as a diuretic, helps with bloating and flatulence caused by junk food. The substances in cranberries also remove the accumulated bacteria in the bladder.
