Mass production of fruits and vegetables is associated with the use of pesticides, herbicides that degrade food quality
We supplement the list of foods that we consider healthy with skim or low-fat milk. It is time to stop being afraid of whole milk and dairy products. Publications from 2016 in the American Journal of Nutrition recommend the use of full-fat products instead of non-fat ones. A study of 18,000 women found that those who preferred full-fat products were up to 8% less likely to be obese.
One of the theories is that consuming full-fat products makes us feel full for a longer time. Separately, skim milk has added sugar, which is a risk factor for type 2 diabetes and heart disease. There are currents that recommend the use of raw milk, as pasteurization destroys many of its beneficial ingredients, including the enzyme lactase, which helps break down milk sugar, lactose.
Agave juice . In the last few years, it has become a popular substitute for sugar and artificial sweeteners and is on every shelf of healthy foods. According to recent studies, Agave syrup is anything but healthy. It has the highest fructose content compared to all other artificial sweeteners. Fructose is processed in the liver. The excess is transformed into fat. You can use honey or green stevia as a healthier substitute.
Roast meat . All meats are a source of amino acids, creatine and sugars. High temperature cooking converts these ingredients into molecules called heterocyclic amines. They are toxic compounds also found in cigarette smoke. Roast meat contains up to 3.5 times more of these compounds than the average roast. The use of ready-made sauces for flavoring, containing sugar and honey, makes burning meat easier. To reduce the likelihood of burns, do not use ready-made marinades. Prepare them yourself.
Garcinia Cambogia . A product very often chosen for diets aimed at losing weight. But its side effects put it on the list of healthy foods you should not eat. Prolonged use of this fruit has been shown to cause serious liver damage. Certainly, the risk is not worth it.
Berries of unspecified origin. Strawberries tested between 2009 and 2016 at the American Institute of Agriculture contain an average of 5.75 different types of pesticides. The results are after the fruits have been washed. Very often the land in which strawberries are grown is treated with toxic gases intended for chemical weapons. Therefore, choose to buy fruit only from reliable sources. Otherwise, the toxins you take in are many times more than the vitamins.
Canned green beans . Unless it's homemade, remove it from your menu. Eating canned green beans three times a week is considered high risk because of the pesticides used in growing the crop. This food has been shown to contain bisphenol A, a synthetic estrogen. Hormone intake can lead to imbalances or reproductive problems. Use fresh or frozen beans and choose the places where you shop.
Pangasius fish . This type of fish appears on the menu of every fine restaurant. This typical river fish is farmed in artificial ponds in many Asian countries. Initially, its price is very low, maybe good marketing has increased its price many times over. A study from 2016 showed that 70-80% of Pangasius worldwide is contaminated with vibriobacteria, contains antibiotics and other toxins.
